1) What is the theme of your poem?

That even in the most mundane situation we are surrounded by mystical forces that can influence our lives. Here is a quiet town in the Midwest in the middle of winter…yet the people have encounters with ghosts and spirit and a surprisingly vindictive nature.

2) How would you like people to respond when they read or watch your poetry reading?

There is a great book of short stories written by Bernard Malamud called “The Magic Barrel.” One reviewer described the stories as “the place where reality and imagination meet.” That is a reaction I would like. Reality and imagination have met, clashed in this poem…and imagination seems to winning.

3) How long have you been writing poetry?
