1) What is your very short story about?
This story is about a woman who is mourning someone very dear to her—her husband, lost at sea. She is consumed by grief and cannot help but stare out at the sea, tempted to give into her sadness and join her loved one beneath the waves.
2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?
I first wrote a rough version of this story during a writing prompt. The prompt encouraged writers to use the word ‘smile’ in a 140 character story.
