Interview with Novelist Elizabeth Good (Trampled Underfoot, Just Another Sunday)

just_anotherInterview with the Novelist:

Matthew Toffolo: What is the general theme and tone of your novels?

Elizabeth Good: The theme of both of my novels is the delicate interplay of Fate and Freewill choices when it comes to our Life’s journey. Where we ultimately end up as an adult is a combination of both fate and freewill.

The tone of my novels is dramatic. There is some levity here and there but these two stories are complex dramas. Just Another Sunday is a Coming-of-Age, family drama. And the follow-up book, entitled Trampled Underfoot, is more of a Romantic, New Adult, family drama.

MT: Why should people buy your novels?

EG: My books are very nostalgic and people who loved the 60s and 70s decades will be sure to reminisce those bygone years. I know many young people who wish they had grown-up during those decades. After all, we had the best music! Not only that, but the story lines in my books are both complex and thought-provoking.

MT: How would you describe your novels in just two words?

EG: Realistic Fiction

MT: What movie have you seen the most in your life?

EG: It’s a toss between The Wizard of Oz and A Hard Day’s Night (Yes, I was a Beatlemaniac back in the day)

MT: Was being a novel writer something you’ve always dreamed of doing?

EG: Never in a million years did I think I would craft and publish two novels, but when the embers within started to burn, I had go with it, I had to write my story!

(It became an obsession, actually.)

And when your hard work finally goes “to print”, and you hold your finished product in your hand, the feeling is absolutely incredible.

MT: Do you have an all-time favorite novel? Have you read a novel more than once?

EG: Herman Wouk’s The Winds of War. I loved that book, but I’ve only read it once. And, no, I do not read books more than that unless I am editing my own work.

MT: What motivates you to write?

EG: My motivation to write both of my books was to revisit the “how and why” I am the person who I am today.

MT: What artist would you love to have dinner with?

EG: Clint Eastwood! Yum!

MT: Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

EG: I am passionate about my grandchildren, retaining good health, traveling to new destinations, the exhilaration I get from swimming, and the joy of baking! (I’d rather make biscotti and coffee cake than dinner!)

MT: Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

EG: Don’t give up, and don’t be embarrassed. Don’t keep your written work a secret.
