Too many to name. However, Do They Hear You When You Cry, by Fauziya Kassindja,
always comes to mind.

What motivated you to write this story?

A combination of the following:
A rainstorm
The clashing of metal chains
My Ancestors

If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would that be?

Dr. Maya Angelou

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Extending some relief/healing through massage care
Nature walks
Reading

What influenced you to enter your story to get performed?

From the moment this story entered my consciousness, my protagonist has shown me
all that she see’s. I have always seen this particular passage performed, so when the opportunity presented itself through the Novel Writing Festival, I couldn’t pass it up.

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

To my fellow creative’s out there, trust your characters; they may actually know more than you. And if you open your self to them, what ends up on the page may surprise you.
