Get to know the writer:
What is your novel about?
Be Silent is about the consequences of curiosity—it can cost you your childhood if it doesn’t kill you. It is about three pre-teens that stumble upon two AK47’s in 1964 Zambia—they get kidnapped by the guns’ owner, resulting in a rescue mission, which, over the course of a single night and morning, becomes more violent and out of control as the hours pass.
What genres would you say this novel is in?
Modern historical (20th-century) action adventure.
How would you describe this story in two words?
Africa adventure
What movie have you seen the most in your life?
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (x4)
A Good Year (x4 – Russell Crowe & Marion Cotillard)

Amazing Grace
Do you have an all-time favorite novel?

What motivated you to write this story?
I was born in Zambia and grew up on mission stations such as described in the novel. I wanted to bring homage to the complex nature of the emancipation of the Southern African region and its peoples, following centuries of colonialization, ethnic conflict, and political turmoil.
If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would that be?
Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 – Inventor, Musician, Sculptor, Artist …)

Lifelong fitness, reading, drawing & photography.

Get the word out — I’m a new and unknown author but also shine a light on the more recent history of (southern) Africa and its peopl
