What is your short story about?

It’s about a teenager taking a step towards adulthood.

What genres would you say this short story is in?

General fiction or YA.

How would you describe this story in two words?

Teenage goals.

What movie have you seen the most in your life?

That’s a tough call. Star Wars, National Treasure, or Men in Black. Probably Star Wars edges out all others out.

How long have you been working on this story?

Total time, about sixteen hours. It started as a writing prompt a few years ago, and I adapted the last portion of that story for this contest.

Do you have an all-time favorite novel?

Atlas Shrugged-Rand. A close second is Contact-Sagan.

What motivated you to write this story?

It was a writing prompt for a writers’ group I belong to.

If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would that be?

Ben Franklin.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Reading and software design and development.

What influenced you to enter your short story to get performed?

The idea of having my story performed sounded very cool.

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Write. Learn about craft, especially story structure, from credible sources.
