Get to know the winning writer:

What is your 1pg Short Story about?

A woman who was born with the gift of “knowing” who sees her own impending death and decides to use her gift to cut through the superficial and nuanced talk and speak the truth in her last days.

What genres would you say this short story is in?

This is a hard one. Does Romance count if the romances are all bad? A mystery, but it again is with a twist. The criminal is known but never prosecuted. More of a Hollywood Romance ala Jackie Collins.

How would you describe this story in two words?

Psychic Noir

What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Meet Joe Black

How long have you been working on this story?

It didn’t take long to write it just a few hours. But I wrote in in 2003 and tucked it away.

Do you have an all-time favorite novel?

The Alchemist.

What motivated you to write this story?

People I knew or read about who were involved in some scandal and yet everyone pretended there was no truth to it when it was proven true.

What artist would you love to have dinner with?

Leonardo Da Vinci.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Researching natural mysteries of the world.

What influenced you to enter the 1pg. Short Story contest?

My publicist.

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Write from the heart.
