Read Poem: THE WINDS, by Madison Barclay

In the tapestry of youth, I once roamed,
A seeker of truths, in a world unknown.
In the whispers of adolescence, I found,
A longing to unravel, to be unbound.

Through the corridors of doubt, I tread,
In search of the self, with heart ahead.
In the echoes of societal expectation,
I found the courage for self-exploration.

With each step, I shed layers of guise,
Revealing the depths, beneath the skies.
For I am not defined by the world’s decree,
But by the woman I’m destined to be.

In the mirror’s reflection, I see,
A warrior princess, fierce and free.
With eyes that blaze with untamed fire,
I embrace the journey, higher and higher.

No longer confined by the chains of conformity,
I dance to the rhythm of my own story.
For in the essence of my womanhood,
I find the strength to rise, understood.

So let the winds of change carry my name,
For I am unapologetically the same.
A young woman, blooming with grace,
Embracing the journey, finding her place.
