Read Poem: Cleansing, Sukanya Basu Mallik

Does time ever pause or stand completely still?
No, it holds neither joy nor grief within its unyielding will.

Who suffers when belittled by those intent on harm?
May they not see our pain, nor cause further alarm.

Shall they feast upon our tears, those who wish us pain?
No, let them taste their own fears, their bitter gains.

How long until healing shrouds the shadows lurking dark?
Until light overcomes the silence, leaving its mark.

Together, we heal as one,
All energies under the same sun.
Unified, a sphere of force,
Healing from each fall, each course.
Learning love, so deep, profound,
A love that the world itself surrounds.
Live it, feel it, let it be,
A second nature, wild and free.
Now all is calm, all is right,
Desires met in the quiet night.
Let rain pour down, a cleansing flow,
Wash away the dirt, let freshness grow.
Shower us in purity’s lace,
Cleanse our souls, grant us grace.
